National Magazine Award winners!
Reader’s Digest won two awards at the 36th annual National Magazine Awards in June 2013! “Whale Rising”, by Jeff Warren from the July 2012 issue won:
• Gold: Science, Technology & Environment
• Silver: Essays
Reader’s Digest was also a finalist in two other categories:
• Health and Medicine for “Minding Your Business” by Richard Skinulis
• Investigative Journalism for “Tough Love” by Georgie Binks
And Reader’s Digest associate editor Katherine Laidlaw, was a finalist in the Best Short Feature category for her story “The lover and his fight” from Up Here magazine.
Best Health Magazine was a finalist for Service: Health and Family for their story “What’s New in Birth Control” by Rhea Seymour, in the September 2012 issue.
